Two of the matches featured dramatic title changes (Sasha, New Day), Swann’s post-match segment included the heel turn of Neville, and Roman’s post-match segment included Rollins and Reigns laying an extended beatdown on Jeri-KO. The post-match segments on this card loomed larger than normal. For some context, keep in mind that the median post-match segment time in my data set is 2m 00s and the average time is 2m 27s. The 32m 57s time for Sasha’s match does not include the time after the initial 30-minute clock expired, when the referee was trying to communicate to the ring announcer about how the match would proceed before checking to see if Sasha was ready to continue. It’s just part of the margin of error that will always be present. I start the clock as soon as I hear a bell ring, but perhaps WWE waited for the opening bell to stop ringing before starting their clock for those two matches.Įither way it is just a one second difference and it’s not a big deal. But in the case of Zayn and Charlotte’s match, my best guess is that the one second difference occurred in the beginning of the match. I usually assume that timing discrepancies come at the end of the match, as I wait for the bell to ring before stopping the clock (rather than stopping it at the referee’s third touch of the mat). I also had Goldberg’s squash of Lesnar at Survivor Series 2016 clocked at 1m 27s, whereas WWE’s official time was 1m 26s. I have Zayn’s match timed at 10m 01s and the first part of Charlotte’s match timed at 30m 01s there’s always a margin of error of 2 or 3 seconds to keep in mind for all timing boundaries. Charlotte Flair (9th longest out of 370 matches) This also includes where each match time ranks out of all 370 matches in my data set.
